Entry #5 Cat

Cat :30 | Allstate Mayhem - YouTube

As the commercial starts out the mayhem guy on the couch acting like he was a cat. During the commercial he was acting like a cat and destroying things we need good coverage for in the house. Also, he even said that since the day they brought him home he wanted to destroy their life. These were just examples of needing good insurance.

What i got from the commercial was its supposed to be humors but about important things like insurance. Insurance is important and helpful especially because everything in the world is raising in prices, inflation was up for the past couple of years even in housing market. This is targeted at homeowners and basically showing them the importance of insurance. Even, homeowners with cats because normally cats are a little destructive, so people will understand. Using a cat was a good example but most cat owners know they aren't that destructive. Also, owning cats is such a normal house pet we can easily relate too. Anything or anyone, including your cat can destroy the important and expensive things in your home.

Trying to explain important situations in a humorous way is something that will grab people's attention. We all know without insurance of any kind even for a car, one mistake and we have to spend so much money for any sort of repair. I believe this commercial was made to use American's fear against them and convince them to get Allstate. At the end of the commercial it asked if we were in good hands. Wanting you to get Allstate if you don't have an insurance company yet. These commercials are always the best and i think humor is such a good way to grab your watchers attention.

Remember to invite the reader into the conversation by establishing the context before jumping right into the ad/analysis.Push yourself to pull out specific evidence from the ad to analyze: quotes, the setting, the larger context of the issue at hand (pet ownerships & the problems it might cause), and really dig deep into your analysis.
